"We were once bound here, among the stars, long ago."
"Bound to remain and bound to possess..."

Asmodeus, 2271

"Asmodeus' race" was an unknown non-physical species of the First One generation that was sealed away on Earth. The entity that executed that penalty was likely the other Ancient Races.[1]

History

Long ago, Asmodeus' race could travel the galaxy of their free will until they were trapped on an uninhabited planet. They couldn't leave that world and if said world was destroyed, so would their kind be. Eventually that world gave birth to intelligent life, Humans. As that civilization advanced, the cast out aliens began taking an interest in this race. During the Medieval Era, they tried to possess countless humans, which was believed to be demonic possession.

During the Third Age, one of these aliens, Asmodeus, possessed Simon Burke. Asmodeus' intention was to leave the planet and convince a servant of God to set him free. His plan was foiled by Colonel Elizabeth Lochley, who discovered the truth about Asmodeus' plan to escape Earth's bind. Asmodeus was sent back to Earth where he was exorcized.[1]

Notes

  • Lochley prophesied that Asmodeus and his race would all die when Sol went nova. Though when that event came to past, it was unknown whether Asmodeus' race had found a way to set themselves free or were still bound to Earth. So it's not known if this race went extinct.
  • Asmodeus claimed that his race was casted into imprisonment by God and that only a servant of God could break that seal. The Vorlons, for a long time, claimed ot be Gods and were even seen as such in the eyes of Humans. It is possible that the Vorlons were among those who chained them to Earth or even personally did the all deed.
  • Been the source of demonic possession believed by Humans in the dark ages, this race could be called "Demons". Nevertheless, the terms "Asmodeus' race" and "Demons" are used here only as descriptors, as no official name for this race was ever mentioned.
