Atumbe was an Earthforce Major and the second officer aboard Babylon 5.[1]
After being informed that she would be required to submit to a telepathic scan during an investigation Lieutenant Commander Susan Ivanova was distraught and asked the Dome Tech operating Station 1 to call in Major Atumbe to cover for her while she left her shift early.[2]

There is speculation that the officer left in charge of C'n'C while Ivanova and Sinclair met Dr. Franklin at customs might be Atumbe.[3]
