Barbara Tashaki was a political scientist from the University of Japan at Tokyo.

In 2362, she took part in an educational stellarcast on the one hundredth anniversary of the Interstellar Alliance alongside historian Dr. Jim Latimere from the University of York and psychologist Dr. William Exeter from New York University. She was a fierce critic of John Sheridan. During the broadcast, she was shocked to see Delenn enter the room and contradict them. She asked her to stay and answer questions, but Delenn dismissed her, objecting that she was not really interested in knowledge.[1]
