Dr. Benjamin Kyle was Babylon 5's original Chief Medical Officer until Stephen Franklin replaced him in 2258.

He performed surgery on Vorlon ambassador Kosh Naranek when he was critically injured in an assassination attempt, making him the only known human at that time to lay eyes on a Vorlon. Bound by an his oath of confidentiality, he never told anyone what he saw. [1] [2]

While still serving on Babylon 5 he handled Cailyn James's diagnosis of terminal neural paralysis. [3]

He left Babylon 5 in late 2257. Shortly before starting his new job as head of Xenobiological Research at Earth Dome, he ran into Doctor Stephen Franklin who on his way yo Babylon 5. [4]. Dr. Kyle finall retired in December 2262, he asker Doctor Stephen Franklin to again fill his position.[5] & [6]
