"Do not thump the book of G'Quan. It is disrespectful."

– G'kar to Garibaldi[1]

The Book of G'Quan is a Narn religious text written by G'Quan himself and is the greatest selling Narn book of all time. However, in later days it may have been surpassed or at least equaled by the Book of G'Kar.

Like all Narn holy books, the Book of G'Quan must be hand written and identical in form to existing copies, including any imperfections in the pages. To have it translated into any language other than the "mother tongue" is considered sacrilege.[2]

Since G'Quan lived during the time that the Shadows were on Narn, the book was frequently used as a reference in finding out more about the great enemy and their weaknesses. It detailed how G'Quan led the Narn telepaths in a crusade that drove the Shadows from the planet.[3] Telepaths are referred to in the book as Mindwalkers.[1]

Passages[]

There is a greater darkness than the one we fight: it is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way.
– Book of G'Quan.[4]

To you, I give the grain, the light and the sky. To you, a sacred heritage. To you, the land and sea.
– So spoke G'Quan at the dawn of all mornings.[5]

And the spirit of darkness moved upon the land. It screamed in the dreams of the mindwalkers.
And they fell, destroyed by it, to their children and their children's children.
Then did the darkness come to Narn until it was driven out by G'Quan and the last of the surviving mindwalkers.::– Book of G'Quan.[1]
