Takarn was a member of the same species as Varn, the guardian of the Great Machine on Epsilon III. He was a part of a violent faction of outcasts exiled in 1758, bent on finding and utilized the Great Machine for their own gain.
In 2258, he captained a ship that was sent to reclaim the Great Machine. He was killed when his vessel was destroyed by the Great Machine. [1]
