The Heavy cruiser of this class was one of the first jump capable ships designed by the Narn Regime after the end of the Centauri occupation of their planet.

As one of the first war vessels of the Narn this is a cobbled together ship with most of the technology being obtained from trade with the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, stolen from Centauri during the occupation or any other races the Narn government thought they could get away with. [1] Several of these ships accompanied by Frazi class heavy fighters were used in the surprise attack on Ragesh III in 2258. [2]

Behind the Scenes

The Ship CG model was built by Visual Effects Artist and Foundation Imaging Co-founder Ron Thornton. Due mostly to time restrictions, the model was in fact a "kludge" made up of two Star Destroyer-like ships that he had already built for NewTek for release with LightWave 3D, rotated on their sides with a crude connecting hull in-between. Later on in the show they were able to go back a design a proper Narn Cruiser which would take the form of the G'Quan.[3]
