Old One was an elder of a colony of the race Dureena Nafeel belonged to who lived on Theta 49. He was a decedent of those of his race who had been taken as labor on the ship Qualtham generations earlier.[1]
Robert Black had met with him a number of times to try and address the fear that his race had with the recently arrived Humans. He, and others of his race believed that the Humans brought darkness with them. The fear that his people had for the humans turned out to be legitimate, as the Humans brought the Drakh plague with them. The Drakh plague infected the villagers at an accelerated rate.
Old One later was found by Dureena Nafeel, who he mistook as a guide that comes to take the dying. Moments after being found, he passed away.
