Death/Psi Corp founding chronology

I've been flicking through Dark Genesis and The Chronologies of Babylon 5 and I'm a little confused as the the exact sequence of events. A part of the problem is that the onscreen date for the founding of Psi Corps is 2261, though Crawford's appointment and subsequent death appears to take place in 2156. So would this mean that it took 5 years to pass the legislation from Psi Corp or would all the "2156" events from the book (including Crawford's death) be moved forward to 2161, which would mean that it was 5 years before a permanent Centauri ambassador was assigned on Earth? I wonder if this is an example of retroactively updating the dates when the Psi Corps books were released - or if it was a slip-up. Should on-screen information take precedence, or since the novels came out later and give greater detail of the Psi Corps - that that date should be used. We can mention the discrepancy at the bottom of the page with a "continuity" blurb. Radagast83 07:15, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I'd say the onscreen dates should take precedence as several of the books had similar notable errors (especially the Centauri Trilogy.) Whatever we decide, there should defiantly be a note, either in the main text of in a ref tag to avoid confusion and explain the discrepancy.Blind Wolf 16:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Let's go with the on-screen date (and note the discrepancy). Radagast83 00:36, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I disagree with you Radagast83. You are right it is a Continuity Blurb. and as such i am forced to disagree with your finaly statement. instead i dont think we can use the date of 2261 as the founding. im certain that the Character on the show really ment to say 2161. for instance in the first few episodes which are based in 2259 theres already a Psi-Corps. and this would not fit with it being founded years later in 2261. We should go with the 2161 date instead. Promethius20 (talk) 15:13, December 20, 2013 (UTC)
