Shadow transcendence? Edit

It was never shown that the Shadows achieved transcendence. As a matter of fact, there were indications that they never evolved to the point of abandoning their physical bodies, rather passing through the technological singularity where they become one with their technology. I think they should be removed from the list of transcended races. KenoSarawa (Talk|Contribs) 14:10, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

I recommend deleting the article altogether. I can't recall the term "transcendence" being used in the series or any official source (but if it has, please let me know where), so it seems like fan fiction. It also makes the unwarranted assumption that becoming pure energy is the last evolutionary stage possible for all species at all times, or that there is an absolute dividing line between "transcendence" and "non-transcendence" (or all energy vs. all matter). In nature, evolution is a gradual process, it never stops, and it is never follows a single path. Who is to say that there isn't the possibility of different varieties of existence for energy beings, or more "powerful" levels beyond what was depicted in the several decades covered by Babylon 5? All we know is that it is a (not the) very advanced stage--and as KenoSarawa pointed out, it hasn't applied to the Shadows. -- BlueResistance (talk) 22:09, June 22, 2015 (UTC)
In River of Souls, Lochley told the Soul Hunter that when a race reachs a certain point in the evolution, they abandon their physical body and become "transcendent".-- (talk) 16:39, June 24, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, then. In that case, you should reference River of Souls and the relevant episodes for other examples of transcendence in the article for everyone to see. -- BlueResistance (talk) 02:43, June 25, 2015 (UTC)

Vorlon and Shadow Biology Edit

Shadow and Vorlon Biology

Vorlons and Shadows are beings of light, by virtue of their natural bioluminescence. They both wear encounter suits but do not look the same out of them.

Vorlons masquerade as "beings of light" as in higher beings from the cultures they have tampered with.

Vorlons and Shadows are most definitely NOT beings of pure energy. They are physical beings.

Vorlons and Shadows can be killed, with high energy discharges, specific toxins etc.

Vorlons can break off part of their consciousness B5historyman (talk) 20:11, April 2, 2018 (UTC)
