Telis Elaris was a Centauri radical and outspoken free thinker who was vocal in his criticisms of the Centauri establishment. Flying in the face of tradition, Elaris wore his hair long and down over his shoulders, much to the consternation of many conservatives. Young Centauri women on the other hand, found the style quite appealing.[2]
In late 2262 he was chosen by Emperor Mollari II to serve as a teacher for Senna Refa, over the vehement objections of Durla, his Minister of Internal Security. In 2263, Telis was killed in an explosion that Durla claimed was a result of Elaris building a bomb to assassinate the Emperor.
