Terrence Hilliard was a Psi Corps commercial telepath.
In 2256 he was hired by Anna Sheridan, then freelancing for IPX, to examine and attempt to activate an artifact of unknown origin dubbed 'the mouse'.
Terrence made telepathic contact with the device, accidentally causing it to explode. His physical injuries are superficial, but his brain is locked into the rigid, cyclical pattern of the machine itself, muttering "I am the machine" over and over. He's taken to the Geneva City Hospital but there he's taken by Psi Corps agent Donne and moved to a Corps facility. [1][2]
Alongside Hilliard, every other telepath rated P-5 or lower in a three-mile radius suffered the effects of the 'mouse'.
