The Babylon Project
Canonbox default The following is based on The Mongoose Publishing RPG books and contradicts canon sources.

The Thoughtforce is the ship of the Mindriders, one of the First Ones.

It's constructed of carbon molecules that were telekinetically-compressed, and within its shell is a localised bubble of concentrated telepathic energy which contains the life energies of the Mindriders. The ships weapons are projectors of multi-wavelength pulses which the Mindriders aim and operate telepathically.

The Mindriders are constantly projecting a telekinetic field to both protect and propel the ship. A field that is so powerful that only high-powered energy weapons have a chance of getting through the field without being deflected. Combined with the ship's self-repairing abilities, it makes the ship impervious to most of the Younger Races' munitions.

The specifications regarding the Thoughtforce varies depending on the source, both the publisher and the edition. The data referenced in the infobox is from the Babylon 5: A Call to Arms (Game)'s sourcebook, Fleet Lists and the Babylon 5 the Roleplaying Game's sourcebook, Thirdspace. Other sources provide the following specifications:

Babylon 5 Wars's War of the Ancients

  • Thought Shield: Generated by the combined psionic abilities of its incorporeal inhabitants, which diverts and disperses enemy attacks.
  • Thought Wave: It's crew can generate a "thought wave", a telekinetic explosion that radiates outs in all directions. It's a spatial disturbance that damages all non-Mindrider ships, though the maneuvers of a targeted ship can minimize the effects and it's defensive electronic warfare systems can degrade the effects.
  • Telekinetic Cutter: The Mindriders can project a cutting beam.
  • Weapons: ultra pulse cannon, trioptic pulsars

Babylon 5 Wars's Ships of the Fleet

  • Weapons: 1 ultra pulse cannon, 4 trioptic pulsars
