Unnamed Characters[]

I was screencapping images from And Now for a Word and I started to wonder what to do with images of Johnny's Mother, or the Psi Cop in the Psi Corps Propaganda Advertisement. For now I've decided to just put the images on the actor's page until we decide what to do about unnamed characters like that. Given that there's an article for Minbari Assassin, Knight One, and Knight Two, what's your position on this? --JemHadar359 15:33, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I highly doubt anyone is going to be looking them up, since they're not technically characters. Best use for them, I think, would be to have a section on recruitment, propaganda and public relations in the Psi Corps article. Blind Wolf 22:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay, and for random unnamed characters, I'll just put the image on the actor page. --JemHadar359 23:46, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Righto. Oh, while you're capping, if you spot a good shot of Morden that gives you a good look at his necklace, let me know, there's an article for that, believe it or not. Blind Wolf 23:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Peaceful Debate[]

I just want to say that I do not mean any offense in our debates. --Farragut79 20:55, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

None taken mate. By having a rational argument in the talk section, it makes it easier to keep a bead on why certain decisions were made. Blind Wolf 01:15, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
You win, I am not contributing anymore. You made it difficult to enjoy contributing to this Wiki. I tired of bickering with you. --Farragut79 04:52, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Nice work![]

Haven't complemented you especially for your hard work here!

Since you're one of the more active members I figured I'd drop a line here instead on some random talk page. I've been thinking for the last few days/weeks that a redesign of the "season" boxes needs to take place. This box is the box that appears on every episode page. The problem is the right hand side looks a little messy to me when both that and the episode details box are present. I think that the episodes box needs a static, standard spot (either at the top like on Lostpedia, or at the bottom like the Battlestar Wiki). If you'd like to chime in with any thoughts, or suggest a place where this could be discussed further, let me know. Otherwise I'm willing to redesign the templates myself and place all of them where they should be on every episode/movie/book/(and hopefully comic book) page (either at the top or bottom) to bring some consistency to this template. Let me know your thoughts and thanks again. Radagast83 03:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. One of the advantages of being unemployed insomniac is that I have plenty of time on my hands! ;)
I tend to agree the season/episode boxes are in need of a bit of a rethink. From the examples you suggested I rather think the BSG wiki is the best one to emulate/steal from. With the season/show template down the bottom and the sidebar template used for production info (writer/director/production number/airdate/next/previous...etc...etc.) and an image (perhaps a screencap of when the episode title comes on screen, or something more interesting?)
What I do like the idea of however, is the templates that collapse if there are 3 or more (including the infobox) on the same page, like the ones I've seen on the Fallout wiki], though I'm not 100% sure what would be the best way to use that here. Perhaps if there's a separate template for the season episode list and the show/season list then it might be arranged something like this: -
       |Babylon 5: Signs and Portents | The Coming of Shadows | Point of No Return | No Surrender, No Retreat | Wheel of Fire |
       |Crusade: Season 1 | Scripted/Unfilmed Episodes |
       |The Legend of the Rangers: To Live and Die in Starlight | Babylon 5 - The Lost Tales: Voices in the Dark |
       |DVD Movies and Features: The Gathering | In the Beginning | Thirdspace | River of Souls | A Call to Arms |
       | Babylon 5 Season 1 "Signs and Portents" (January 26, 1994 - October 3, 1994) Episode List |
       | |
I think a layout like this would allow for a good balance of information and clarity, what do you think?Blind Wolf 05:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Great idea. I like the two template approach (season and episode). I can take a look into the collapsible boxes route as well, though depending on the difficulty it may be implemented later. I'll start work tomorrow or this weekend. Thanks for the thoughtful input! Radagast83 06:09, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem! I imagine the collapsing function would require one or two "invisible" templates to support it, though the beauty of a wiki is that you can quite easily steal the coding off someone else's template, so it shouldn't be too hard to back track. ;)Blind Wolf 06:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

In By Any Means Necessary, a labore strike for the Rush act was on Ganymede.

"He's bluffing. The Rush Act hasn't been invoked since Europa."
By Any Means Necessary - DVD subtitles
"You know what could happen if I have to order Garibaldi in."
"The same thing that happened on Europa and at Matewan. The same thing that always happens when laborers rise up."
By Any Means Necessary - DVD subtitles
Ganymede was never mentioned as far as I can tell. Blind Wolf 20:00, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Ganymede is mentioned once by Neeoma Conoly where her father was shot dead during the 37 mining strikes on Ganymede. Whether the Rush Act was actually invoked then isn't mentioned. Maephos 01:58, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Just double check the episode and you're correct. For reference I used a bank of ripped dvd subtitle files and it's usually reliable, but occasionally, like here the odd detail is lost in the name of brevity. You're also right that it wasn't specifically mentioned as an instance of the Rush act and I'm pretty sure that it only came into existence during the Minbari War (10 years after '37), to stop unions and corporations from jeopardising the war effort. She also later mentions New California in the same breath as Matewan & Europa (something else the subtitles missed!) but again, it's not necessarily another instance of the Rush Act. Blind Wolf 02:19, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I had to re-watch the episode myself and hunt for that one brief instance mentioned during a conversation with Sinclair and Garibaldi, so don't feel bad about it. :) Maephos 02:25, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
If I had the money, I'd get the scripts, but even then the lines sometimes change! ;) Anyway, I've amended the appropriate articles. Blind Wolf 02:42, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Footnote help needed[]

Hi there, I'm new here and wanted to know if you could correct something I just did. I tried to add reference tags on Fiona and Matthew Dexter on the Psi Scale page. Instead of adding them to an already existing footnote, I inadvertently added two more mentions of Dark Genesis - The Birth of the Psi Corps to the bottom of the page. Thanks for your help. DragonMage 21:02, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Not a problem. Have a look at the history to see how to do that in the future. Blind Wolf 22:10, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Noble House Edits[]

Why was my edits removed from the Centauri Noble Houses? They were properly referenced as sourced from the B5 RPG source books. According to this page...

... they are considered canon...

Ron McClung

That page is a bit out of date, there's a question as to which if any RPGs are canon at all and we've spent the last few months removing as much of it as we can root out, but it's like pulling up weeds. Until we have a good way of presenting RPG based information without it conflicting with the rest of the wiki, we're better off just leaving it out, for now at least.
The best solution in the long run would probably be for someone to create a B5 version of "Memory Beta", that can cover all the RPGs without omissions and without the worry of it contradicting canon (which allot of it seems to do.) That way the two wikis to link back and forth on common articles and we'd get the best of both worlds. But that's a job for someone with access to the books and the interest to pursue it. All I know for sure is mixing it all together has already proven to be very messy, incoherent and damn near impossible to keep tabs on.Blind Wolf 22:47, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I think we'd need a much stronger main Wiki before branching out in the form of "Memory Beta" - however I wonder if some kind of compromise could be met where this "quasi-canon" information. Could instead provide it in a separate section at the bottom of the page, in the form of an "apocrypha" section to avoid it from being part of the main body of text? At some future point it can then be purged, integrated, or shifted to a separate wiki. I'll be on vacation until Sunday July 5th, so I can't really chime in any more on this until then. Radagast83 07:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
The way I see it, there's so much RPG data that appears to embellish and contradict other sources (including other RPGs) than any attempt to integrate it, even in an "apocrypha" sub heading is going to get messy. Add to that the fact that a good portion of the games seem to especially focus on ship stats (which we've already gone the lengths to remove) then we'd be in a situation where most of the ships might end up with several sets of stats.
On the other hand if you take the seemingly reasonable compromise of only including some RPG data, then you're going to get arguments as to what should take precedence over what and we're in messville again.
I'm not suggesting that we spin off a "Memory Beta" on our own, hopefully if enough RPG fans keep coming here and asking for RPG data, one of them will eventually take the hint and go start a sister wiki. ;) Seriously though, I think RPG articles are just going to cause headaches and we've just about managed to wrangle this article into something approaching a vague coherence, it'd be a shame to let it slide.
Having said all that, I'm not adverse to including "apocrypha" subsections, but only when it related to the early, "pre-City of Sorrows", which is why I created the {{NonCanon}} template. Actually, I think I brought this a few weeks ago on the Sheridan article's talk page. Blind Wolf 08:18, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Please Read[]

before you edit the Page Sofie Ivanova again, please Read this Article on Wikipedia to understand naming conventions of Russian names.,_Soviet_Union_and_CIS_countries --WhellerNG 23:58, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I understand the argument, but Radagast83 gave you an answer on this. If you want to add a small, properly cited note on Russian naming conventions in that article that's fine, but the rest of the article will adhere to canon.Blind Wolf 00:01, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Impressive EA ships' seals![]

Greetings Blind Wolf!

I would like to compliment you on your work concerning your contributions on the Babylon 5 logos and insignia, especially the Earth Alliance ships' seals, and particularly those of the Omega-class destroyers.

Just wondering, but are the seals for the EAS Cerberus and EAS Medusa your creation? If so, well done! Are you planning to create and contribute more ships' seals in the near future? I'd be very interested in seeing more of your work, if you don't mind.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks. Yes they're my work, or rather my reproductions of what was used on the show based on as much reference material as I can scrape together. There are a few ship seals and logos I haven't got to yet, though it's hard to get good reference and I don't want to put anything up unless I'm reasonably happy with it's accuracy.Blind Wolf 03:40, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

EAS Charon's "other" seal[]

Blind Wolf, would you happen to know about EAS Charon's other seal? It appeared in an issue of the old Babylon 5 Magazine. I definitely remember seeing it, but I don't know which issue it was. I'd like to find it.

I have a suggestion, if you don't mind me offering one. Since the Charon has an "official" seal (as was seen in the B5 movie 'A Call To Arms'), what about assigning the "other" seal to the Omega-class destroyer EAS Acheron, since both their names have similar connotations? Let me know what you think about this idea.

Wikimage 14:06, October 14, 2009 (UTC)Wikimage

Arbitrarily assigning an unused graphic to another ship because the name sounds similar is more into the realms of fan fiction, so it really has no place here.Blind Wolf 22:13, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Hi, hier is missing the Draxis Colony (episode B5: Movements of Fire and Shadow). Pleas add this planet. --Zipacna-1 18:47, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

Could you be a little more specific? At a glance, I can't find any such reference. That aside, a "Draxis Colony" does not necessarily equate to a planet of the same name. Blind Wolf 21:36, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, my english is very bad. Look here:
This planet was on the start of episode B5: Movements of Fire and Shadow. --Zipacna-1 17:40, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Permission request[]

Hi there :)

Just found this site - a most impressive piece of work - thanks to all involved.

I am presently writing my third free supplement for the Babylon 5 Starship Minatures game - A Call to Arms and would very much like to use the various racial flags that you have created in this work. Can you let me know if this would be permissible and if so what credit you would like ?

My previous works are available here:

Darkness Rising

Darkness Rising : The Breakthrough Project

The latest work is a adaption of the novel by James Harnett on the Dilgar War [1]

thanks again - the finished work can be found here:

its about 230 pages / 12MB

Three edged sword[]

will you also be including Jarsto's Voices of Babylon podcast (farpoint Media), as i think Jan from the scripts Team is going to make them Cannon. --Attraidies 23:10, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Short answer: No. Long answer: still no, because: -
  1. I have no idea what that is.
  2. If I did, I have no idea how one would "include" a podcast on a wikia.
  3. According to Jan: -
"I certainly *don't* have the power to make something Canon (or Cannon <g>) and even if I did, I couldn't do so with Jarsto's work because I don't think I've ever heard more than two segments of Three Edged Sword!

Politdivision and Prole Sector[]

Dude! why did you merge the two articles into a single one? The two are separate factions and "Prole Sector" is the only name available to identify the Pro-ISA faction. We could create a "conjectural title" tag but I don't see the need to merge the two articles into a single one--Gonzalo84 21:12, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Read the notes and the talk page mate. "Prole Sector" is just JMS using an Orwellian term and to be honest there really doesn't need to be a name for both opposing factions, at least not right at the beginning of a civil war. That aside I'm pretty sure "Politdivision" is just a newspeak word for "government". Blind Wolf 21:18, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
But the oposing side is not the government. I think there should be two articles: Politdivision and "rebels". In any event. Shouldn't a merge like this be voted first?.--Gonzalo84 19:16, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
No, look if you listen to what the guy actually says, the "prole sector" (i.e. the general populous) are the one's they're trying to win over with their propaganda vids. The opposition consists of the outer-world colonies and a bunch of Earth nation states and neither side is explicitly named, only that "Politdivision" is behind the vids and is probably just a new word for Earthgov. Keep in mind the guy is talking in newspeak, with the compressed vocabulary and clipped grammar so it can be a little confusing, so here's all the relevant dialogue: -

To recap for Politdivision Central, the purpose of this simulation is to provide reverse-correct infospeak as support for current changes in Earth policy. It is the new policy that the Interstellar Alliance is restrictive and against the best interests of Earth. Intent is to deconstruct historical figures revered by prole sector thereby legitimizing current government policies.

There's another force out there. Earthgov is split. The two sides are fighting each other over land and resources, power. We're on the cusp of another civil war.

We will strike at the outer-world colonies and the enemy nations here on Earth at the same time. Our attack fleet will be leaving within the hour.

Politdivision is either Earthgov itself (some new regime that's taking a hard line) or a powerful part of the government akin to the ministry of peace or the political office that's split Earthgov and the Alliance down the middle. All we know for sure is that one side is predominately colonies (Mars, Proxima, Orion, etc.) what we don't know is which Earth nations have chosen which side, though just from the name "Politdivision" it seams a good chunk of the EA administration is with the secessionists. Bottom line, we don't need two separate, near identical articles for two factions that are just an indeterminate pair of groups within the Earth Alliance. In fact, we know so little that I'm tempted to fold it all into the Earth Alliance's "history" subheading. Blind Wolf 19:43, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

And would you merge Earth Alliance Resistance with Earth Alliance? This should be voted first. In any event I've requested sysop intervention 'cause I don't want to be involved in edit wars. This is not private property. --Gonzalo84 19:49, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

Well we know considerably more about the EA resistance than we do about the entire 2nd EA civil war, so obviously no. The information we have can be summed up thusly; Earthgove tries to force a new policy to secede the EA from the ISA, Earthgov is split, they start fighting over land and resources. The secessionists make a bid to win over public (prole) opinion with propaganda, it back fires and Earth gets scorched. That's about it. Just barely enough to fill one article never mind two and most of it is already duplicated in the "Second Earth Alliance Civil War" as it is so, even if "Prole Sector" was the opposing faction (which it's not) duplicating it a second time is just being downright pedantic and redundant. Blind Wolf 20:00, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

Prole Sector[]

I have recreated the article, though I'm stating that the term refers to IA supporters and in the "notes", that it isn't clear if the name refers to a political entity or is just a broader term used by Daniel to refer to "the enemy supporters".--Gonzalo84 18:57, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

Just wanted to say that those logos you've recreated are amazing. Any plans on recreating Daniel's Politdivision logo?.--Gonzalo84 08:08, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

You're obsessed, you know that? ;) I'll probably get around to it, though I'll have to go back and look at the screen caps and see how accurate I can be with it. As I recall it's just a couple of 'SS' lightning strikes on a circle so it should be easy enough. Blind Wolf 10:45, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
Yep, similar to the symbol of the Nazi SS. Saw a screen cap: brown sphere and black "lighting SS".

Have there been any Earthforce rank insignias for Lt, Lt.JG?

As far as I can tell, it's identical to the Ensign insignia, but I'm waiting until I can track down a definitive source before I do anything further with the EF insignias. Blind Wolf 20:14, May 28, 2010 (UTC)

Look Them Up[]

Timov Mollari[]

According to the Legion of Fire series the last chapters a totally inaccurate.

BookIII/p236: She died the exact same day as Londo, in exile.

In BookI/p242: She went at the royal court. and on p 275 she exiled from the planet.

I put the citation by pages since i found that you are not familiar with this trilogy at all.

New wiki skin[]

I see that you've marked the two pictures I uploaded for deletion. Since the new "Wikia" skin becomes visible to everyone tomorrow and the "Monaco" skin goes away on November 3rd, that means one of three things:

  1. Someone has to design a wordmark logo to be used with the new skin ("Wikia"/"Oasis").
  2. The admins decide to use plain text in the Theme Designer for "The Babylon Project" and it will not have any kind of a graphic next to it.
  3. The admins decide to forego using the Wikia skin and drop back to the Monobook skin by setting it for everyone via the Preferences.

Here's a screenshot of what the plain text looks like and what everyone will see, starting tomorrow:

I have stopped by here occasionally so I do not know what discussions this wiki has had about migrating to the new skin, using the old Monobook skin or leaving to find some other company to host this wiki. But I do know that within the next two weeks a decision will be made for this wiki if you don't make one yourselves. - RRabbit42 (leave a message) 14:56, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, we've got it covered. Blind Wolf 00:00, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I see that now. I hadn't looked far enough to see the discussion that you and Radagast83 are having about the new look. It wasn't apparent to me why my offer to help was "unneeded" so that's why I removed the deletion tag. You've got it handled so I'll let you get back to designing the new look. - RRabbit42 (leave a message) 03:44, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

B5 Books[]

Based on what I'm reading, I think we'll find the newly released book, "Artifacts From Beyond the Rim," a perfect resource for some of the things on this site:

"The Patches of Babylon 5 For the first time ever, detailed scans of an array of uniform patches -- thirty-one to be exact -- that were seen on the costumes in Babylon 5. Each one is identified along with where they were shown on each uniform. The inventory includes most Earthforce insignia (Command, Security, Medical, Engineering, Mars Command, etc.), as well as patches from the Earth/Minbari War, Earthforce vessels, Starfury squadrons stationed on Babylon 5 and the EAS Excalibur."

Among other things. Radagast83 17:48, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, so that's what they were up to! A few weeks ago I was consulted to help identify some patches they'd dug out of JMS's storage unit. A shame I probably can't afford the bloody thing! ;-) Blind Wolf 20:43, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Battle of ShLekkTha[]

First, I don't know how to do citations, so if you could please tell me that would be really helpfully.

Second, the battle of ShLekkTha is seen in In the Beginning and if you read the Earth-Minbari War pages under the section The War, it is the same information, the only thing that maybe is not canon is the name of the battle, but since all of battle are name for location...I name this battle after it location, ShLekkTha System. I hope the help and if you can tell me how to do citations I will be more than happy to citations the reference.

Thank You

Stop Deleted my edits[]

Listen douchebags stop deleted my edits...if you has a problem takes it up with one of the Admins. If you contiune to delete them, I will contiune to undo them. Now if JMS says that the Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 is fine and that is all I need. Also the information on John Sheridan comes from JMS Speaks here is the link to the pages

On the Battle of ShLekkTha, we see the Battle taking place In the Beginning but again the names of the Battle is base on it location, which I found on the Earth-Minbair War pages. So that may need to be work on.

I really want to know if and where I can still find a US version of

Babylon 5: The Complete Universe Box Set (41 Discs)[]

I want to purchase it for my girlfriend who's a fan. I want to see the whole thing too. Please tell me where I can get it in the USA preferably closer to Florida, or at least in NTSC Region 1, where ever it is. I guess it's time to invest in a region 2 dvd player and a multi-system tv. I really don't want to have to do that. since it's quite expensive. I don't know where else to go. Please help. thanks,

How the hell would I know? I don't even live in the states mate so all I can tell you is try Amazon Marketplace or eBay. Having said that I'm pretty sure they never did release the complete universe set in Region 1 so you'll either have to settle for the individual seasons or, as you say, invest in a multi region player and import it from the UK. DVD screens[]

I'm from the B5/X3 mod team.

B5/X3 A Dream given form

I just want to ask with which program do you make your screens? They look very sharp and clear. No one of us got such clear screens from the DVDs.

It would help us with a few things because we still have to make ships, planets and nebulae from the show. (one of my next models will be the thirdspace gate).

Best regards

Nothing really special, just the standard capture function on Power DVD. The trick is pausing it in the right place so you don't get much ghosting. Blind Wolf 00:54, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
